Pots tell stories , some more obvious than others , and some we will never know. I love this unusual Ewenny slipware jar, decorated with tulips and birds , in many ways echoing Dutch Pennsylvanian potters, the lid depicting a couple, Him splendid in his tricorn hat & tails , she clearly not impressed, has turned her back , but kept the flower... perhaps she was just shy!, or playing hard to get !. |
